We are seeking a passionate and driven Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our construction cost services for our esteemed clients in the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will embody our commitment to excellence and uphold the core values of Turner & Townsend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice to clients, oversee vendor prequalification, evaluate proposals, manage bid levelling documents, and make final recommendations. Participate in and lead bid interviews while overseeing the appointment process.
- Oversee comprehensive estimating services by creating detailed project estimates (including construction, fees, direct work, and ancillary costs), reviewing junior team members' estimations, presenting estimates and value engineering suggestions to clients, and conducting risk assessments. Collaborate with vendors to validate and challenge costs using benchmark data from previous projects.
- Establish and manage cost reporting processes, including creating a reporting schedule, presenting cost reports and forecasts, reviewing project budgets, and maintaining a commercial risk register. Organize periodic meetings with project teams and vendors.
- Control costs by reviewing payment application assessments from junior team members, advising project managers on contractor entitlements, assessing change order requests from vendors, and applying dispute management procedures for payment requisitions and contractual disputes.
- Oversee the invoicing process and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Benchmark performance against successful projects to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the final accounting process, conduct post-contract audits, and facilitate account closeouts.
- Lead post-contract reviews with clients to develop lessons learned documentation and implement improvements into training resources.
- Establish procedures for project handover.
- Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software in all responsibilities.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
