About the Role
We are creators. Our curiosity drives us to innovate, and we believe that the best way to validate an idea is to bring it to life.
As the Creative Director for Interactive & Retail Experiences, you will be the architect of the pivotal “magic moment” when a user first engages with a device and instantly grasps its necessity. Reporting directly to the GCD of Emerging Experiences, you will shape the digital representation of Google’s hardware and software in the physical world.
Your expertise lies in interactive screens, yet your focus is on retail environments. You will spearhead the development of premier interactive demonstrations for global retail settings (including Google Store and Best Buy) and event activations. As a hybrid creative leader—part UX architect, part product designer, and part storyteller—you will adeptly translate complex AI functionalities into engaging, intuitive, and “Google Grade” interactions.
Responsibilities:
Interactive Mastery & Product Storytelling
- Own the Demo: Lead the conceptualization and execution of on-device demonstrations for new product launches (such as Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit). Transform technical specifications into compelling “show, don’t tell” experiences that instantly communicate the product’s value.
- Retail Pragmatism: Marry visionary creative concepts with the practicalities of the retail environment. Design robust experiences capable of withstanding thousands of interactions while remaining simple enough to engage shoppers in mere seconds.
- UX/UI Leadership: Direct teams of interactive designers, motion designers, and creative technologists. Ensure that every interaction—from swipes to taps—meets the pinnacle of quality and usability.
