Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic Brand Identity Lead to define and elevate the visual language of OpenAI. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting the identity systems that enable a global audience to understand our work.
As a senior member of our design team, you will spearhead the development of OpenAI’s core visual identity across products, marketing campaigns, events, and public experiences. You will collaborate closely with product, marketing, motion design, and leadership teams to ensure our brand remains clear, consistent, and expressive as we evolve.

This role is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office each week. Relocation assistance is available for new hires.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the transformation of OpenAI’s visual identity.
- Oversee the development of the identity systems, including logos, typography, color palettes, and core visual principles.
- Ensure our brand remains recognizable, cohesive, and adaptable as we launch new products and initiatives.
- Develop scalable branding systems.
- Create and maintain templates, component libraries, and comprehensive documentation that empower teams to produce high-quality, on-brand materials across digital, motion, print, and event platforms.
- Integrate product design with brand expression.
