The CT Radiologic Technologist embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine (NM). This role requires adherence to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, along with compliance to all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately positions and immobilizes patients on the examination table to ensure optimal imaging results.
- Administers contrast media, either orally or intravenously, in line with departmental policies, patient history, exam protocols, and physician orders, while providing thorough post-exam instructions.
- Records essential data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time, and additional technical specifications into the computer system.
- Engages with patients before and during procedures to monitor their safety and comfort.
- Reviews images of organs or tissues on the display screen ensuring high-quality results, and produces necessary radiographs.
- Conducts quality assurance checks on CT equipment and maintains accurate logs.
- Performs clerical duties including receiving orders, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining records.
- Keeps the work area and equipment clean and well-maintained, restocking supplies as required.
