The CT Scan Technologist embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Position and secure patients on the examination table for accurate imaging.
- Administer oral and/or IV contrast media in line with departmental protocols, patient history, and physician orders, ensuring to provide post-exam instructions.
- Input technical data such as scan type, slice thickness, and scan duration into the computer system.
- Engage with patients before and throughout the procedure, monitoring their safety and comfort.
- Analyze images of organs or tissues on a display screen to guarantee image quality and produce radiographs.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on CT equipment and maintain necessary logs.
- Handle clerical tasks such as order processing, patient scheduling, and record maintenance.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean, restocking supplies as needed.
