Qualifications
What We Look For:High School diploma or equivalent experience.Ability to accurately distinguish colors on facilities.Capacity to manage 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs.) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).Willingness to successfully complete service tech boot camp training, including POTS/DSL installation and repair, cable splicing, maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations.Basic proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications.Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and utility holes.Capability to work aloft using ladders.Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at various hours.A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.Professional demeanor and appearance in communications regarding company products and services.

Join Brightspeed as a Customer Service Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for high-speed internet, video, and voice networks. You will work with related wiring and equipment, while also maintaining and repairing outside plant facilities within your designated service area. This role may require flexibility, including varying shifts, mandatory overtime, weekends, and holiday work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks along with associated wiring and equipment.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on outside plant facilities.
- Utilize tools such as ladders, shovels, and picks for digging and burying cables, and work in controlled environmental vaults (CEVs).
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with other technical personnel as requested.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives and direct customer-facing work.
- Facilitate sales referrals to enhance customer satisfaction.
