Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:A high school diploma or equivalent experience.Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.Ability to handle extension ladders (up to 28 feet, routine work up to 75 lbs.) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).Capability to successfully complete technical training in POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations.Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and utility holes.Comfortable working at heights using ladders.Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at various hours.A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.Professional appearance and demeanor for customer interactions.

Join the Brightspeed team as a Customer Service Technician! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, along with the related wiring and equipment. Additionally, you will maintain and repair outside plant facilities within designated geographic service areas. This role may require you to work varying shifts, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, along with associated wiring and equipment.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on outside plant facilities.
- Climbing poles, digging up and burying cable, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEVs), and locating buried telephone cables.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Supporting other technicians in their duties as needed.
- Actively participating in sales and marketing initiatives.
- Facilitating customer-facing work and sales referrals.
