Qualifications
What we are looking for:A high school diploma or equivalent experience.Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.Capacity to manage 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs. for routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).Willingness to complete service technician boot camp training, including POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, and HSI installations.Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).Adeptness at working aloft (e.g., using ladders).Preparedness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at different times of the day or night.A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.A professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company’s services to customers.

Join the Brightspeed team as a Customer Service Technician! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including all associated wiring and equipment. Additionally, you will maintain and repair outside plant facilities within your designated service area. This position may require you to work varied shifts, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays, ensuring that our customers receive the quality service they deserve.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on outside plant facilities.
- Engaging in physical tasks such as climbing poles, digging to bury cables, and working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEV).
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Assisting fellow technicians as needed.
- Supporting sales and marketing efforts.
- Interacting directly with customers to provide support and sales referrals.
