Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:A High School diploma or equivalent experience.Ability to differentiate colors on facilities.Capability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs. of routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).Willingness to successfully complete service tech boot camp training, including POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations.Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office applications.Comfortable working in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).Aptitude for working at heights (e.g., on ladders).Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at various times of the day/night.A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.A positive and professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company's products and services to customers.

Join the Brightspeed team as a Customer Service Technician! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, along with the associated wiring and equipment. You will also oversee the maintenance and repair of outside plant facilities in your designated geographic service area. This position requires flexibility, as you may be needed to work varying shifts, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including all related wiring and equipment.
- Maintenance and repair of outside plant facilities.
- Climbing poles, utilizing tools such as shovels and picks to dig and bury cable, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEVs), and locating buried telephone cables.
- Adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
- Assisting fellow technical personnel as needed.
- Supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
- Managing customer-facing tasks and sales referrals.
