Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:A High School diploma or equivalent experience.The ability to distinguish colors on facilities.Capability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs.) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).The ability to complete service technician boot camp training successfully, covering POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and high-speed internet installations.Basic proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications.The ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and utility holes.The ability to work at heights (e.g., using a ladder).The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at different times of the day/night.A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.A positive and professional demeanor when communicating with customers about the company's products and services.

Join Brightspeed as a Customer Service Technician and play a vital role in enhancing connectivity! In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, along with associated wiring and equipment. You will also oversee the upkeep and repair of outside plant facilities within designated service areas. This role requires flexibility, as it may include varying shifts with mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks along with related wiring and equipment.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on outside plant facilities.
- Climbing poles and utilizing tools for digging and burying cables, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEV), and locating buried telephone cables.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
- Assisting fellow technical staff in their duties when needed.
- Supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
- Engaging in customer-facing work and directing sales referrals.
