Qualifications
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:A high school diploma or equivalent experience.Ability to distinguish colors in facilities.Capacity to safely handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs. routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.).Willingness to complete service technician boot camp training, including POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations (self and full).Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.Able to work in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).Capability to work aloft (e.g., using a ladder).Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and at different times of the day/night.A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.Exemplary professional demeanor and appearance when representing the company’s products and services.

Join Brightspeed as a Customer Service Technician and become a key player in delivering exceptional internet, video, and voice network services! In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet and associated systems, including vital wiring and equipment. You will also undertake essential maintenance and repairs of outside plant facilities within designated service areas. This role may require flexibility in your work schedule, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holiday shifts.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, as well as associated wiring and equipment.
- Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities.
- Climbing poles, using shovels and picks to dig and bury cables, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEV), and locating buried telephone cables.
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Providing assistance to fellow technicians when required.
- Supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
- Engaging in customer-facing activities and directing sales referrals.
