Essential qualifications include a robust safety mindset, meticulous record-keeping skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team. A passion for outdoor work in varying conditions while adhering to schedules and procedures is crucial.Proficiency with computers and data management is necessary, along with clear communication skills to effectively share your insights. Experience in monitoring or surveillance within the energy, utilities, or environmental sectors is highly advantageous. Additional desirable skills include data processing using GIS or CAD, knowledge in civil engineering, geology, or hydrology, experience with instrumentation and data loggers, and familiarity with drones, ROVs, or borehole cameras. Comfort with 4WD vehicles, jet boats, and working at heights or in confined spaces, along with some HSE experience from construction or operations, would be beneficial. You will be involved in a range of field activities including surveillance readings on dams, inspecting embankments, and assessing tunnels and structures. Your role will also encompass waterway assessments and shoreline support, ensuring that our monitoring instruments are functioning optimally, and data is seamlessly transmitted.
This hands-on position offers a unique blend of outdoor work and technical responsibilities that significantly impacts our communities. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and compliance of our operations by analyzing monitoring results, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating with engineers on maintenance tasks and minor projects.
Your contributions will also support our health, safety, and environmental (HSE) goals, enhance emergency preparedness, and foster teamwork across the Operations group. This environment encourages collaboration and allows your curiosity and attention to detail to thrive.
