Role Overview: Data Center Technician III
The Data Center Technician III plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of our data center. This position requires a robust understanding of telecommunications, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, as well as data center operational protocols.
We are currently seeking candidates for the Day Shift: Sunday-Thursday.
The Tier III technician will oversee daily operations of the data center, encompassing both facilities and telecommunications infrastructure. Responsibilities are diverse and multidisciplinary.
Mechanical duties will involve managing chilled water systems and components, as well as HVAC systems such as rooftop units, CRAC/CRAH units, humidification systems, and central plant operations.
Electrical responsibilities will include working with electrical and critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems to customer loads, including power circuit installations.
Fire Life Safety tasks will involve monitoring wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems along with their associated detection devices.
Telecommunications responsibilities will encompass cross connect installations, cabling infrastructure management, advanced remote hands support, and customer cage and cabinet build-outs.
Expectations include customer infrastructure build-outs (cage builds, overhead installations, rack and stack), cable termination and testing, maintenance tasks, and monitoring and responding to mechanical, electrical, fire protection, telecom, and security systems. These systems comprise transformers, PLCs, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, PDUs, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH, wet sprinkler systems, and pre-action systems.
