As a Data Center Strategy Specialist, you will be pivotal in developing a comprehensive data center strategy that steers our client through forthcoming infrastructure transformations. This encompasses assessing needs, exploring alternatives, overcoming limitations, and presenting actionable insights with various scenarios that align with our business objectives and technical specifications.
This strategy will facilitate our client’s shift towards a hybrid cloud infrastructure, bolster application resilience, and address the rising dependence on IT systems driven by real-time operations and the increasing importance of AI-supported applications.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Needs Assessment:
Align the data center strategy with overarching business goals, including the transition to hybrid cloud and progressive application enhancements.
Conduct capacity planning to support increasingly resilient applications, comprehensive testing environments, and redundant production systems.
Develop a phased roadmap for integrating EDP zones into ETB systems, catering to the growing reliance on IT for real-time operations.
Examine emerging trends, such as the escalating complexity of energy systems and the increasing demand for AI-driven applications.
Options Evaluation:
Assess and compare options for co-location, constructing new data centers, building in-house infrastructure, or exploring co-creation scenarios.
Provide valuable insights into the potential for edge computing in substations, utilizing virtual substation technology alongside our client’s network.
Offer a detailed cost-benefit analysis for each option, focusing on risk management and operational efficiency.
