Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team at GovWorx, where we lead in Responsible AI initiatives for public safety. In this pivotal role, you will help design and implement AI solutions tailored to the needs of 911, Law Enforcement, and Fire/EMS teams. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data infrastructure and cloud systems, with a strong enthusiasm for developing reliable, scalable data pipelines for operational AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, create, and maintain data pipelines and workflows to facilitate AI and analytics applications.
Manage and optimize structured and semi-structured data utilizing MySQL, Redshift, OpenSearch, and related databases.
Research and adopt new database technologies and AWS-native tools to enhance scalability and performance.
Work collaboratively with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to fulfill data requirements across systems.
Develop internal tools for data access, transformation, and quality assurance.
Support infrastructure-as-code and cloud automation to ensure high system reliability.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or similar backend/infrastructure roles.
Proficient in working with both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, OpenSearch).
Extensive experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and other data processing tools.
