Position Overview
As a DDC/BAS Controls Technician II at LONG Building Technologies, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional support to our customers by troubleshooting and programming advanced temperature control systems according to detailed project specifications. Your extensive knowledge of the commercial HVAC sector will enable you to execute installations, warranty services, and emergency procedures effectively. Additionally, you will leverage your field experience to mentor apprentice technicians, providing them with invaluable insights into industry practices and job responsibilities.
Compensation: $38.88 - $45.20 per hour, with potential profit-sharing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you must excel at performing the following essential duties:
- Program databases for all supported systems to comply with specified sequences of operation and manufacturer recommendations, adhering to LONG standards and contractual obligations.
- Calibrate and check control systems, ensuring that all operational sequences and commissioning requirements are fulfilled.
- Create engaging control graphics for projects and contribute labor and expertise for the development of user-friendly graphical interfaces per LONG standards.
- Instruct client personnel on the operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conservation protocols.
- Update drawings and maintain accurate records of equipment for as-built documentation, ensuring all redlined drafts are submitted to application engineers.
- Inform the service sales manager of potential additional sales opportunities and pursue service contracts during start-up, commissioning, and owner training activities.
- Guide controls apprentices on-site, fostering their development in the field.
- Independently complete a variety of essential job site tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered throughout project sequences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of college education in a computer/electronic technical field, along with at least 1 year of experience in temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service; or 3-5 years of relevant field experience.
