Join our expanding fleet in Brazil as a Deck Cadet Officer!
This is a unique opportunity to work on state-of-the-art vessels equipped with advanced technology, and to engage in dynamic and complex operations, including:
- Anchor handling and torpedo launching on AHTS vessels;
- Inspection, maintenance, construction diving, and saturation diving on RSV, CSV, DSV and MPSV vessels;
- Flexible line launching on PLSV vessels.
We seek professionals who bring expertise in vessel maneuvering, planning, and task execution, along with clear and effective communication skills, emphasizing safety, operational efficiency, and technical excellence.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with the “Permanent Orders of the Captain”;
- Acting as the senior officer when required, substituting for the First Officer during legal absences;
- Assisting with the verification of crew documentation in compliance with current regulations upon boarding;
- Maintaining safe navigation practices, utilizing available equipment, and reporting any abnormalities to the Captain that could affect navigation safety;
- Ensuring all relevant information is communicated during watch handover;
- Monitoring non-conformities within the management system;
- Overseeing onboard activities, ensuring adherence to safety policies;
- In the absence of the onboard Safety Technician, ensuring that safety protocols are followed, including Work Permits, Tool Box Talks, and APR, seeking assistance from the First Officer/Captain as necessary;
- Documenting the Navigation Log, Azimuth Log, and other records mandated by current regulations;
- Planning crossings and determining vessel positioning;
- Assisting in vessel maneuvering as directed by the Captain;
- Managing all emergency signaling equipment, including flags, pyrotechnics, lights, and navigation gear;
- Identifying and responding to danger signals, promptly communicating with the Captain;
- Overseeing inventory, distribution according to emergency plans, and maintenance of all safety and lifesaving equipment;
- Staying updated on new regulations and technologies in maritime operations.
