Are you an experienced Project Management professional with a track record of delivering intricate Defence infrastructure projects? AECOM's Defence team is expanding, and we are looking for skilled individuals to contribute to some of the UK’s most vital and prominent programmes that support the Armed Forces both domestically and internationally.
Our projects encompass the entire Defence estate, including accommodation, training, operational facilities, secure technology, aviation, and specialized infrastructure. As a member of our integrated delivery team, you will play a key role in shaping, planning, and executing projects that bolster UK Defence capabilities, ensuring our Armed Forces have the essential facilities to operate efficiently and securely.
Your Role
As a Project Manager specializing in Defence Infrastructure, you will join a well-established programme and project management team within AECOM's Defence sector. You will assist multi-disciplinary teams in delivering projects throughout the complete RIBA lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility stages through design, procurement, construction, and handover.
This role involves managing NEC contracts (Project Specific Contract and Engineering and Construction Contract), ensuring adherence to MOD and DIO governance frameworks, and collaborating closely with client stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to achieve assured, value-driven results.
Key Responsibilities
Assist and, where appropriate, lead the effective delivery of Defence infrastructure projects through all RIBA stages, guaranteeing compliance with DIO, JSP, and MOD approval frameworks.
Provide project support to multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery within programme timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
Serve as NEC Project Manager or Client Representative, offering clear contract and commercial management.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with DIO, TLBs, and site users, promoting collaboration across various organizations.
Mentor and support the development of junior project managers, graduates, and apprentices through hands-on learning and guidance.
Ensure projects comply with sustainability, security, and safety standards, reflecting AECOM’s and the MOD’s governance criteria.
