As a Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and motivating your team. A Day in the Life
Every day at H&M offers unique challenges, but a typical day will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Customer Sales & Profit
- Oversee the overall OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial alignment with global standards.
- Act as a positive representative of yourself and the H&M brand during customer interactions.
- Identify and leverage your department's strengths and commercial opportunities to drive performance.
- Establish and track sales and budget objectives, creating actionable plans to enhance results.
- Guarantee customer service excellence throughout the store and empower your team to actively promote and sell products.
- Encourage your team to promote our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and sustainability initiatives in-store.
- Manage your department efficiently with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure proper procedures in fitting rooms and checkout, including handling transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Maintain accurate administrative routines for both personnel and operations.
- Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Stay current with fashion trends, styles, and competitor activities.
- Equip your team with product knowledge and relevant information to enhance customer interactions.
- Team & Development
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and team development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning to meet business and team needs.
- Share knowledge and skills to empower your team.
- Collaborate with the in-store Visual Merchandiser team for effective planning.
- Engage in feedback exchanges with colleagues to foster growth and support.
- Oversee team scheduling and planning.
- Maintain regular communication with store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire through daily and weekly meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all procedures and legal requirements within the store.
