Main Responsibilities
Leadership
- Facilitate the planning and execution of the Directorate’s Programme of Work (PWB).
- Assist the Director in defining the strategic vision for the Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs and timely guidance on substantive, managerial, and institutional matters.
- Advance sustainable development outcomes in emerging and developing economies through enhanced horizontal collaboration and engagement with non-member nations and developing regions, aligned with the PWB.
- Support the Director in the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) by providing innovative research and insights on sustainable development, in sync with the changing global landscape and the Organisation’s contributions.
- Identify potential global opportunities and risks to formulate robust, evidence-based policy recommendations for both member and non-member countries.
- Enhance the global influence of the OECD’s development initiatives by strengthening partnerships and engagement with key stakeholders and developing nations in international development dialogues.
- Assist in the DCD’s contributions to the Secretary-General’s Office, the OECD Sherpa, and their teams regarding targeted policy advice and the Organisation’s role in development, including engagement with the G20 and G7.
Management and Coordination
- Support the Director in overseeing the Directorate’s human resources through strategic workforce planning, recruitment, staff development, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure optimal allocation of financial and human resources to achieve the Directorate’s objectives and maximize value.
- Lead the design and execution of a strategic resource mobilization plan to secure voluntary contributions and partnerships that support the Directorate’s work agenda.
- Advise and assist the Director in cultivating a cohesive, inclusive, and high-performing multicultural team, while promoting excellence, respect, diversity, and employee well-being.
- Enhance collaboration across the Organisation, including with the Secretary-General’s Office and policy directorates, to support major initiatives and cross-cutting projects.
- Adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards as outlined in the OECD Code of Conduct, fostering a supportive environment that encourages staff to realize their full potential.
Representation and Liaison
- Act as a representative for the Director and the Organisation at various internal and external meetings, building strong relationships and collaborating effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners.
- Establish and maintain a robust network of relationships with international organizations, governmental bodies, academia, and research institutions.
