The Role
The Procurement department at Clifford Chance plays a vital role in establishing optimal commercial agreements for the firm, minimizing risk, and promoting sustainability in sourcing practices. As part of the Legal Information team, a sub-team within the Global Procurement Team, this position provides comprehensive support for business operations and transformational projects worldwide.
Your Collaborators
You will collaborate with KETL Managers across the globe, assisting them in sourcing and cataloguing various documents, including books, journals, articles, and cases, for the firm’s Fee Earners.
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Manager in the Information Sourcing group within Procurement will manage diverse inquiries and tasks utilizing various databases for the firm's offices. This role entails sourcing essential legal databases, subscriptions, books, and news information mainly for Practice areas, as well as specific Business Services sectors, including Business Development.
- Journal subscriptions administration: Oversee renewals, maintain communication with onshore teams and vendors, arrange trials upon request, and negotiate optimal quotes while merging global subscriptions for the best deals.
- Document delivery: Research and procure copies of cases, articles, and legislation from online subscription resources and external commercial sources, considering copyright licensing restrictions.
- User record management: Order and maintain user records for subscribed online sources.
- Cataloguing: Manage print orders within the online Library Management system.
- Stakeholder engagement: Staff the Global Information Sourcing inquiries mailbox and address subscription-related queries.
- Tactical support: Assist in subscription renewals and liaise with suppliers and clients professionally.
- Client interaction: Ensure effective and professional front-line client interaction.
- Project understanding: Comprehend adhoc projects and implement efficient planning to agree on achievable deadlines.
- Business improvement initiatives: Lead/support various initiatives and act as a catalyst for positive change within the team.
