- Effectively communicate the CEO’s vision and PPMNJ’s mission to the public, stakeholders, and elected officials to enhance organizational visibility and influence policy changes.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and External Affairs to forge partnerships and engage with elected officials and community stakeholders across Essex, Hudson, and Passaic Counties.
- Represent PPMNJ at local, state, and national meetings.
- Identify and organize opportunities to boost PPMNJ's visibility, including public speaking engagements and informational tabling at community events.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Advocacy Manager, Fellows, and Interns focused on public affairs and advocacy.
- Develop and expand the Public Advocacy Program (PAP) in collaboration with the Advocacy Manager, focusing on:
- Scaling the Healthy Neighborhood Engagement Program (NEP) in underserved areas like Irvington and Clifton.
- Planning and coordinating annual Get Out the Vote campaigns with PPAFNJ to mobilize volunteers and supporters for non-partisan efforts.
- Revamping the Health Center Advocacy Program (HCAP) to better address patient needs and align with PAP objectives.
- Working alongside Planned Parenthood branches across New Jersey to co-lead the Storytelling Bureau.
- Create collateral materials for public affairs, HCAP, PAP, Youth Organizing Programs, Fellowship Programs, and the Get Out the Vote Campaign, in partnership with the Director of Communications.
- Engage volunteers in C-3 allowable lobbying activities at the State Capital.
- Represent PPMNJ on local advocacy task forces and organizations such as the NJ Institute for Local Justice and THRIVE Coalition.
- Recruit, train, and manage a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) composed of high school and college students to design and implement programs addressing young people's perspectives on advocacy.
