Join Version 1 as a dynamic and growth-oriented Business Development Director specializing in the banking sector. This role is pivotal in generating new revenue streams and driving strategic growth initiatives within Tier 1 and Tier 2 banking institutions. As a quota-carrying leader, you will spearhead enterprise sales efforts, focusing on pipeline development, fostering relationships with senior banking executives, crafting go-to-market strategies, and securing significant multi-year contracts valued at a minimum of £5 million.
In this senior client-facing position, a profound understanding of UK banking operations, regulatory landscapes, and the latest trends in digital, data, and AI-driven transformations is essential. Your extensive stakeholder network and proven success in delivering technology, consulting, or managed services solutions will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Account & Pipeline Development
- Identify and engage with banking institutions in Retail, Commercial, and Corporate Banking sectors.
- Develop and implement business outcome-driven offerings aligned with Digital Banking modernization initiatives in application, infrastructure, Data & AI, and Cloud transformations.
- Lead the origination and progression of large-scale transformation and managed services opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 UK banks.
2. GTM Execution & Solution Positioning
- Collaborate with solution architects and banking subject matter experts to create tailored value propositions.
- Facilitate workshops, respond to RFPs, and deliver compelling client presentations focused on cloud migrations, platform modernization, and transformational initiatives in Digital and Data & AI.
- Position unique industry-led solutions in areas such as Payments, Lending, Risk & Regulatory, and Core Banking.
3. Executive Engagement & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers including CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Digital, and CROs.
- Act as Version 1's representative at significant UK banking events, panels, and roundtables.
4. Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor and analyze developments in the UK banking sector.
- Spot whitespace opportunities stemming from fintech innovations, vendor consolidations, and platform modernization trends.
5. Internal Collaboration & Sales Enablement
- Engage cross-functionally with data, cloud, AI, and enterprise application teams to enhance integrated go-to-market campaigns.
- Support the development of UK-specific industry collateral and vertical sales capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, pricing, legal, and risk approval processes.
