Director of Corporate Strategy
Role Responsibilities:
Galapagos is in search of a Director of Corporate Strategy to collaborate with the VP of Corporate Strategy in shaping the enterprise and portfolio strategy while facilitating critical strategic decision-making across the organization.
This position is tailored for a dynamic strategic leader capable of merging detailed analysis with strong synthesis, superior executive communication, and sound judgment in a rapidly evolving biotech atmosphere. The Director will be pivotal in portfolio planning, assessing internal and external opportunities, and crafting materials for senior leadership and the Board.
By working closely with senior stakeholders from Strategy, R&D, Finance, and Business Development, this role guarantees that strategic priorities are clearly articulated, well-informed, and effectively conveyed.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the development of enterprise and portfolio strategies through structured analysis and synthesis of internal and external data.
Create frameworks and insights that will guide portfolio decisions, growth priorities, and capital allocation strategies.
Develop materials and recommendations that support decision-making on essential strategic issues.
Formulate strategies for portfolio planning, including establishing decision criteria and developing scenarios.
External Analysis & Strategic Insights:
Recognize and synthesize industry trends, competitive dynamics, and innovation themes.
Generate enterprise-level perspectives across therapeutic areas, modalities, and organizations.
Engage with external experts and thought leaders to enhance strategic evaluations.
Lead in-depth strategic projects evaluating risks, opportunities, and strategic alignment.
