Position Overview
The Director of Humanities and Social Studies will lead the academic vision, ensure high-quality curriculum, and facilitate faculty development within the division, all while striving for excellent student outcomes and fostering innovation.
- Develop and implement divisional academic strategies in line with global best practices and school objectives.
- Chair essential academic committees to promote innovation, uphold standards, and encourage continuous improvement.
- Oversee curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, assessment frameworks, and resource allocation.
- Establish systems for teaching quality assurance through regular observations, coaching, and data analysis.
- Lead faculty recruitment, performance evaluations, professional development pathways, and succession planning for subject leaders.
- Encourage action research, conferences, inter-school collaborations, and opportunities for teacher publications.
- Create systems to track student progress, analyze outcomes, and design focused learning support plans.
- Manage academic budgets and learning resources, coordinating facility needs as necessary.
- Engage with parents and community partners through academic briefings and external networks.
- Collaborate with pastoral care, student services, and IT departments on holistic student development and digital transformation initiatives.
- Teach between 4 to 8 periods weekly and deliver model lessons as required.
