About the job
At Headway, we are on a transformative mission to revolutionize the mental health care system, ensuring access for all. Our innovative technology connects individuals with exceptional therapists through the first software-enabled national network of insurance-accepting providers.
With 1 in 4 Americans experiencing a treatable mental health condition, the lack of insurance acceptance among providers makes therapy unaffordable for many. Headway aims to dismantle these barriers, enabling therapists to accept insurance and expand their practices.
Founded in 2019, Headway has rapidly evolved into a diverse network of over 60,000 mental health care providers operating across all 50 states, having served over 1 million patients through our platform. As a Series D company, we have secured over $325 million in funding from esteemed investors including a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), Accel, GV (formerly Google Ventures), Spark Capital, Thrive Capital, Forerunner Ventures, and Health Care Service Corporation.
We are committed to making your time at Headway the most impactful experience of your career. Join us to help reshape mental health care for the better.
Our mission extends beyond patients and providers, as we aim to innovate for payers who finance care. The Payer Product team is at the forefront of reimagining our collaboration with insurance companies through benefits design, care navigation, and more, fostering better care delivery while managing costs.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with some of the largest health care organizations in America to advance mental health financing, introducing innovative and tailored solutions where new approaches are essential.
Your Responsibilities at Headway:
- Oversee the strategic direction of Headway’s Payer Product from inception to execution.
- Develop groundbreaking products that empower payers to design and deliver more adaptable and effective mental health benefits.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior executives at major payers, co-creating solutions that drive significant change.
- Lead and expand a team of Product Managers and engineers to realize this vision.
- Balance immediate wins with long-term strategies that enhance payer economics and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure payer innovations are seamlessly integrated throughout the organization.
