10+ years of experience in broadcast or digital production technology, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.Comprehensive understanding of control room operations, signal flow, and live production environments.Proficiency in VizRT, RTG, and other real-time graphics systems.Hands-on experience with cloud-based switcher platforms and alternative video switching technologies, coupled with a robust understanding of their integration within modern production environments to support remote workflows and scalable creative operations.Demonstrable experience in application management and workflow optimization.Solid grasp of emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, and cloud-based production tools.Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.Preferred Attributes:Strategic thinker with a fervor for innovation.Collaborative leader who excels in a fast-paced environment.

Versant Media is in search of an innovative and technically skilled Director of Production Technology to spearhead the design, execution, and enhancement of production workflows and systems across CNBC, MS Now, entertainment, and USA Sports. This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of broadcast and digital production, focusing on control room infrastructure, real-time graphics, and cutting-edge technologies. Reporting directly to the SVP of Creative Production, you will be instrumental in shaping our production landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the strategic development and operational management of production workflows that equip the creative operations team with dependable, scalable, and adaptable production solutions that facilitate rapid content generation, seamless graphics integration, and effective collaboration in both live and recorded formats.
- Oversee and optimize playback systems, ensuring effective integration of VizRT, Trio, and Sync.
- Investigate and integrate next-generation playback systems powered by AI-driven suggestion engines and automation.
- Manage the application lifecycle for production-related tools, ensuring they align with editorial and technical objectives.
- Research and implement emerging technologies to streamline the creative team’s time from “development to delivery” and enhance overall output.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, editorial, and creative, to deliver cohesive technology solutions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in the realms of AI, cloud production, and automation, translating these into actionable strategies.
- Assess and adopt new technologies to boost production efficiency, quality, and innovation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the production technology staff.
- Develop and manage budgets, vendor partnerships, and project timelines.
