The Distribution and Warehouse Operations Manager is pivotal in steering all warehouse and distribution activities to cultivate a secure, efficient, and client-focused atmosphere. This role encompasses overseeing personnel, championing operational excellence, ensuring adherence to corporate policies, and delivering superior service through ongoing enhancements. The manager is responsible for daily warehouse operations, distribution processes, inventory management, facility preparedness, and optimizing procedures to meet business goals and financial targets.
Leadership & Team Management
- Guide, mentor, and develop warehouse and distribution personnel, including supervisors.
- Conduct weekly team meetings, monthly one-on-ones, and performance evaluations consistent with the 3+1 Initiative.
- Manage staffing levels, including both permanent and temporary staff, to fulfill workload demands.
- Uphold a clean, safe, and professional facility environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Support staff integration, onboarding, and training initiatives to ensure compliance with all required certifications and standards.
Distribution Operations
- Supervise daily order processing, inventory logging, and distribution activities to guarantee precision and timely delivery.
- Review and assist with daily quotations and customer inquiries.
- Ensure product verification, load accuracy, and shipping compliance to reduce branch losses.
- Plan and coordinate distribution timelines, workloads, and operational priorities.
- Participate in sales meetings to evaluate market insights, update teams on operational concerns, and enhance communication with commercial stakeholders.
- Drive revenue growth in alignment with district objectives and management expectations.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee warehouse operations encompassing receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure adherence to Warehouse & IOC standards, safety measures, and operational protocols (OPS).
- Implement the District Tactical Business Plan and performance standards for Warehouse Operations.
- Supervise equipment upkeep, facility readiness, and mandatory inspections.
- Manage the budget for warehouse operations, including staffing, overtime, equipment, maintenance, and facility care.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, stock integrity, and compliance with physical inventory standards.
Compliance, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, the Desk Level Standard Operating Procedures database, and operational performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the Trade Compliance Manager on compliance initiatives and training programs.
- Maintain certification compliance for safety and operational standards.
- Analyze and monitor department processes, identifying opportunities for enhancements.
