As a Retail Sales Associate at American Freight, your role is pivotal in enhancing customer experiences and driving sales growth. You will engage with customers proactively, offering consultative sales support while meeting departmental standards and goals. A clean, well-stocked, and organized sales floor is essential for effective sales activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and addressing customer needs by utilizing approved selling practices and guidelines.
- Consistently meeting or exceeding performance standards set for associates.
- Leveraging technology and understanding website navigation to enhance the customer experience, especially when products are unavailable in-store.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of merchandise, including product features, benefits, and availability.
- Processing customer transactions through the Point of Sale (POS) system, managing sales, returns, and exchanges according to established procedures.
- Completing mandatory training within the designated timeframe and engaging in ongoing learning opportunities.
- Collaborating with fellow sales associates and cashiers to deliver exceptional customer service, assisting in locating merchandise, answering customer queries, and managing the register.
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
