As a Server at Denny's, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will greet, seat, and serve our customers with a friendly demeanor, ensuring their dining experience is memorable. You will take and deliver orders, suggest menu items, process payments, and collaborate with fellow team members to achieve complete guest satisfaction. Quick and thoughtful responses to guest concerns are expected at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Show urgency in serving guests while adhering to service cycle standards.
- Welcome guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them upon departure.
- Assist in seating arrangements, respecting proper rotation and special needs.
- Proactively suggest menu items to enhance the guest experience and meet sales targets.
- Input orders accurately using our point-of-sale system.
- Prepare various beverages, appetizers, salads, and desserts as needed.
- Verify the completeness and presentation of prepared orders.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, adhering to quality standards.
- Maintain attentiveness to guests throughout their dining experience.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of station and floor layouts.
- Possess extensive knowledge of our menu offerings.
- Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette and assist with to-go orders.
- Pre-bus tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next guests.
- Address guest complaints and requests promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Follow safe cash handling procedures and complete transactions accurately.
- Offer assistance to colleagues when needed, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining and service areas.
- Complete all assigned side-work, including deep cleaning tasks.
- Deliver prompt and courteous service, building rapport with both guests and team members.
- Adhere to Denny's Brand Standards and internal policies.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs.
- Capability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs. to shoulder height.
- Adequate mobility to navigate the work area safely.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (4 to 8 hours).
- Ability to hear well in a bustling environment to respond to guest and employee needs.
- Compliance with local health regulations regarding food handling.
