We are currently hiring for the role of English Language Teacher and Creative Arts Teacher for a fixed-term summer contract.
Your responsibilities include:
- Promoting the safety and well-being of all students under our care.
- Delivering language instruction tailored to a camp environment, aligned with the ALPADIA syllabus and educational objectives.
- Exhibiting a robust understanding of English and its linguistic components, providing exemplary models of both spoken and written English.
- Designing lesson content that reflects the course objectives, as well as the diverse cultural backgrounds and learning needs of students.
- Ensuring lessons lead to meaningful learning outcomes, clearly communicated to students and achieved through a logical sequence of activities.
- Utilizing appropriate teaching techniques that cater to the lesson focus and address the needs of both the group and individual learners.
- Creating an effective classroom environment and managing resources to enhance learning.
- Providing timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance throughout the lesson.
- Incorporating activities that assess students' learning progress.
- Fostering an engaging and positive learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrating initiative to adapt the syllabus to meet specific student needs at both the class and individual levels.
- Encouraging the exclusive use of English in the classroom by both students and staff.
- Representing ALPADIA with professionalism and friendliness, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Participating actively in a reflective teaching approach and developmental observation, maintaining an open-door policy in the classroom.
- Arriving punctually and ensuring lessons commence and conclude on time.
- Engaging in all necessary staff meetings.
- Contributing to weekly Professional Development Sessions with a spirit of collaboration.
- Assisting with placement testing when required.
- Understanding and signing relevant risk assessments as needed.
- Liaising with the Camp Manager and Academic Manager to address any concerns raised by students, agents, parents, or other stakeholders.
- Maintaining high levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare, and reporting any issues to the Camp Manager or Academic Manager.
