Join Our Esteemed ELECTIONS Team! We are on the lookout for seasoned, professional Translators to become a part of our exclusive Elections team. As an independent contractor, your role will involve providing high-quality written translations between English and your native language. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in elections, exceptional time management abilities, and an unwavering commitment to linguistic precision.
NATIVE LANGUAGES: HINDI, KOREAN, TAGALOG & THAI
We welcome applications from individuals whose native languages are not listed above, provided all minimum qualifications are met for consideration.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Candidates must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Must reside in the United States
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in providing written translations for local, state, or federal U.S. government offices as a contractor, sub-contractor, employee, freelancer, or volunteer. At least two (2) of these five years must have been within the last five years. Your resume must clearly outline your five years of government-related translation experience with dates. Elections experience is a plus.
- Availability to support Prisma after business hours (evenings), weekends, and holidays during an election cycle.
- Willingness to adhere to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and associated addenda.
- High proficiency in English and a native speaker of the target language(s).
- A reliable desktop PC or laptop with a dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection.
- Experience with modern CAT tools (e.g., XTM, Trados, etc.).
- Adobe Acrobat installed on your device and proficiency in using Adobe's markup tools on PDF files.
- ***At least ONE (1) of the following credentials is required:*** Proof will be requested.
- Active voting member in good standing of the American Translators Association (ATA).
- Current member in good standing of the American Association of Language Specialists.
- Certification as a Vietnamese translator through the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia.
- Certification and registration on the California Judicial Council Master List.
- Categorized as “Certified” or “Professionally Qualified” by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts.
