Position Overview
As an Electric Motor Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in the repair and maintenance of AC & DC electric motors, water handling pumps, gear reducers, and various other industrial electrical and mechanical equipment. Your responsibilities will include:
Disassembling and reassembling industrial electric motors with precision.
Diagnosing mechanical issues effectively.
Conducting inspections and testing of motor windings using high-voltage equipment, including hi-pot testers and surge testing tools.
Executing necessary repairs to ensure optimal performance.
You will be working with single and three-phase voltages, ranging from 115/230/460 volts and potentially up to 4,160 volts.
Key Responsibilities
Repairing a diverse range of industrial electric motors and mechanical equipment.
Utilizing high-voltage testing equipment safely and effectively.
Employing both large and small hand tools, hydraulic tools, and precision instruments, including hydraulic presses rated at 100 tons.
Safely handling torches for heating applications.
Traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, remove, or install equipment as needed.
Coordinating and managing co-workers on job sites when necessary.
Qualifications
Proven experience in the repair of both electrical and mechanical industrial equipment.
Familiarity with testing motor windings and utilizing high-voltage equipment is essential.
Able to work with voltages up to 4,160 volts safely.
Competence in the use of a wide variety of tools and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Ability to work safely with heating torches and heavy machinery.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
A Chauffeur's license is required at the time of hire.
Compensation
Hourly pay is determined based on union classification or relevant work experience for non-union candidates.
