Your Role
We are launching a cutting-edge direct current air-cooled chiller initiative to enhance our next-gen AI data centers. As an Electrical Engineer specializing in this field, you will manage the electrical architecture of our chiller platform. Your responsibilities will encompass power distribution, protection coordination, grounding strategies, and DC switchgear selection. This position demands extensive knowledge of DC power systems and the capability to design efficient and secure power distribution for an innovative architecture.
Your Responsibilities
- Design the power distribution framework, ensuring optimal power paths for compressors, EC condenser fans, chilled water pumps, and auxiliary systems.
- Develop a comprehensive grounding strategy for the system, evaluating various grounding topologies to achieve DC fault isolation.
- Specify and select DC switchgear, circuit breakers, and high-speed fuses to ensure input protection and load branch safety.
- Conduct protection coordination studies to facilitate selective tripping and fault isolation.
- Create electrical single line diagrams and power distribution schematics.
- Specify DC-DC converters for control systems associated with low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers such as ABB, Eaton, Schneider, and Siemens for DC switchgear selection and procurement.
- Develop layouts for electrical panels, along with wiring diagrams and cable schedules.
- Assist with UL certification efforts, ensuring compliance with NEC 480/690 for DC electrical systems.
- Lead arc flash analysis and generate NFPA 70E compliance documentation.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably focused on DC power distribution or power electronics.
- Proficient in electrical design software and simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
