The Electrical Service Technician position is a versatile role that demands a strong mechanical skill set complemented by foundational electrical expertise. This position entails performing a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks on rail cars and other vehicles, including bodywork, welding, fabrication, and basic electrical installations. The technician will also be responsible for conducting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) inspections as assigned and maintaining accurate documentation related to vehicles and the work site. A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a forklift are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Electrician Duties: Installation of high and low voltage systems, including Wi-Fi and communication conduits and cabling, as well as communication systems on buses and passenger rail cars.
- Electrical Installation: Basic wiring installation, testing, and troubleshooting of passenger rail cars and locomotives.
- Documentation: Maintain vehicle history records and other production documentation.
