Qualifications
We seek a candidate who can:Serve as the technical authority for assigned rolling stock systems, ensuring operational safety, reliability, and compliance with EIL procedures.Monitor, investigate, and resolve system performance challenges employing root-cause analysis and data-driven methods.Provide expert technical support to production teams, including the creation of fault-finding guides and assistance with non-standard repairs.Lead and sanction engineering modifications, technical documentation, and system updates to guarantee precision and timely execution.Champion continuous improvement initiatives by refining maintenance practices, minimizing costs, enhancing safety, and boosting fleet availability.Act as Eurostar’s representative in technical dialogues with internal stakeholders and external partners, including suppliers and infrastructure operators.Mentor apprentices, graduates, and colleagues by sharing insights and sustaining personal technical proficiency.Participate in the on-call engineering schedule, addressing safety incidents and operational requirements as needed.Ideal candidates will possess:A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/D or degree) or equivalent professional experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems.A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in rolling stock or a similar operational engineering context.Extensive knowledge of modern rolling stock electrical systems and the ability to interpret engineering documentation effectively.

We are thrilled to announce an opening for the role of Electrical Systems Engineer in our esteemed Rolling Stock department. As the technical authority in this position, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of our specific train electrical systems. Your responsibilities will include fault analysis, driving system enhancements, providing technical support to production, and managing engineering modifications while collaborating across various teams to optimize fleet performance.
This is a permanent, on-site position based at our Temple Mills depot in Leyton. The role may require you to be on-call as necessary.
