Position Summary
As an Electrode Process Technician on our dynamic Electrode Manufacturing Team, you will collaborate with technicians, engineers, and scientists to conduct a variety of experiments. This includes material mixing, electrode coating, thorough inspection, assembly of cells, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of supervising projects as directed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate electrode coating equipment to produce various cathode and anode formulations.
- Work closely with R&D engineers and scientists to carry out complex experiments, ensuring adherence to established recipes and formulas with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effectively communicate observations, technical challenges, and project progress to the wider R&D team.
- Accurately document process data and observations in quality management software to ensure R&D traceability.
- Utilize small equipment and hand tools for component and battery cell production.
- Safely operate large-scale coating machinery and small tools for component production.
- Measure materials using precision instruments such as micrometers, mass scales, digital multimeters, and calipers to meet specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify and classify electrode defects according to quality standards.
- Input data into quality management systems to support research and development traceability.
- Assemble components into fully functional battery cells for testing.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while working in cleanroom environments, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Experience with electrode coating facilities; familiarity with slot-die or roll-to-roll (R2R) systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to follow intricate, multi-step recipes and chemical formulas with great precision.
- Capability to perform work in cleanroom, dry room, or fume hood environments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
