About the job
As an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer at AMS Corporation, you will tackle intricate electromagnetic compatibility issues to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vital systems in nuclear power plants and other high-stakes environments. Our engineers are more than just testers; they are analytical problem-solvers who communicate effectively and represent AMS with professionalism and integrity. We prioritize hiring engineers who blend robust technical skills with keen judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and a client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement EMC/EMI testing plans for client equipment, adhering to established protocols while customizing approaches to suit the unique characteristics of each system under evaluation.
- Conduct a comprehensive array of EMC qualification tests in the laboratory, including emissions, immunity, surge, ESD, and RF susceptibility, utilizing various testing equipment and software, while accurately documenting findings.
- Create and refine technical reports and documentation with a strong focus on detail, ensuring they meet clarity, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues for systems that initially fail to meet EMC standards, collaborating with internal teams and clients to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
- Engage in on-site activities at client facilities or nuclear plants as necessary, which may involve emissions surveys, in-plant measurements, field troubleshooting, or on-site qualification testing.
