Opportunity Overview
As a contributor, you will partake in diverse projects that may involve:
- Crafting challenging energy engineering scenarios that reflect current professional practices;
- Assessing AI solutions for accuracy, underlying assumptions, and constraints;
- Validating calculations or simulations leveraging Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy);
- Enhancing AI logic to align with industry standards;
- Utilizing structured scoring criteria for multi-step problems.
Qualifications We Seek
This role is ideal for energy engineers with Python expertise who are available for part-time, non-permanent projects. Preferred qualifications include:
- A degree in Energy Engineering or related disciplines, such as Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or Electronics;
- 3+ years of professional experience in energy engineering;
- Excellent written English skills (C1/C2 proficiency);
- Strong command of Python for numerical validation;
- A stable internet connection.
Professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEng, EMP, CEM) and experience with international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Time Commitment
Estimated task requirements range from 10–20 hours per week during active project phases, subject to project needs. This is an estimate and does not guarantee a fixed workload.
Compensation
- Competitive pay for contributions, with rates of up to $38/hour*;
- Fixed project rates or individualized rates based on project scope;
- Some projects may include performance-based incentives.
*Note: Rates are subject to variation based on expertise, skills assessment, geographical location, project requirements, and other factors. Highly specialized experts may be offered higher rates, while lower rates may apply during onboarding or non-core project phases.
