About the job
Join Posh as an Engineering Manager
At Posh, we understand the profound importance of human connection in an increasingly digital world. As the landscape of social interaction evolves, many of today’s leading platforms have inadvertently contributed to feelings of loneliness and anxiety. We aim to change that.
Posh stands as a guiding light, empowering individuals to create real-life communities centered around shared interests. Our platform connects users with like-minded individuals, transforming social gatherings into vibrant experiences. Since our inception by passionate event organizers, we have developed a premier platform for launching, monetizing, and discovering in-real-life (IRL) communities. In just five years, Posh has expanded to a dynamic team of 65, attracted over 7 million users, raised $70 million in venture funding, and facilitated transactions exceeding $300 million.
Your Role
As our Engineering Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of 5-8 engineers who are committed to building the technology that fuels our mission of fostering real-world connections through shared experiences.
This pivotal role places you at the crossroads of product development, design, and engineering, where you will oversee the technical delivery and quality of one of our two core products: Organizer (B2B) or Consumer (social). Your responsibilities will include building scalable systems that enable organizers to launch and monetize their communities while providing engaging social discovery experiences for consumers.
Ideal candidates will be technically proficient individuals who have transitioned to management in recent years, thriving on sharing their expertise and fostering collaboration across teams.
This position entails approximately 70% leadership and delivery management and 30% hands-on technical involvement, including architectural guidance, code and design reviews, setting standards, resolving complex challenges, and occasionally developing small, exemplary features. The focus will be on impactful management performance while maintaining high technical standards, ensuring your team delivers high-quality work efficiently and sustainably.
This position is based in our vibrant New York City office located in SoHo. We believe that working together in person is crucial to our mission of creating lively, engaging experiences for our customers. The energy we bring to our events is mirrored in how we collaborate as a team every day.
