About the VPP Team
The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team at Enpal connects home batteries and solar systems to the energy market. Our cutting-edge software and IoT ecosystem leverage real-time market data, household consumption patterns, battery statuses, and price signals to intelligently determine when to buy or sell energy. You will collaborate with a compact, high-caliber team of five backend engineers and one product manager in a data-intensive, backend-focused environment. Experience in IoT will be a significant asset.
What You Will Do
Develop technology that enables households to engage in renewable energy trading.
Lead, mentor, and nurture the VPP engineering team.
Direct the design of reliable, intelligent, real-time decision-making systems.
Shape a platform based on cloud-native microservices, event-driven architecture, and IoT integrations.
Collaborate with product, operations, analysts, and IoT experts.
Promote a supportive and open team culture.
What You Bring
Proven experience in leading engineering teams, particularly in backend-heavy or real-time systems.
Strong backend engineering expertise in distributed systems, event-driven design, and cloud-native architectures.
Interest or experience in IoT and device communication.
Ability to set technical direction while remaining approachable and supportive to engineers.
A genuine motivation to work in renewable energy and emerging markets such as flexibility trading.
A collaborative and empathetic leadership style.
