As the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator, you will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of Environmental and Sustainability programs on site. Collaborating closely with our Technical department, you will identify strategic opportunities for the advancement of Environmental and Sustainability initiatives, guiding their progression through the Environmental & Sustainability Action Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and enhance the environmental management system to comply with regulatory, ISO 14001, customer, and Kepak standards, ensuring continual improvement of our environmental footprint.
- Monitor, implement, and control all aspects of the site's environmental compliance license.
- Develop and execute environmental strategies and action plans aligned with corporate sustainable development goals.
- Coordinate efforts related to pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental conservation, and renewable energy.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and stay updated on UK and relevant international regulations, in conjunction with Group environmental policies.
- Oversee the management of the effluent treatment plant system.
- Engage with local authorities and other stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Maintain the site's legal compliance register using Red On-Line.
- Audit, analyze, and report on environmental performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate the site's environmental impacts.
- Promote awareness among site teams about emerging environmental issues.
- Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to identify and deliver necessary training on environmental responsibilities for staff at all levels.
- Participate in relevant environmental education and research (with appropriate approvals).
- Work with site management to negotiate environmental service agreements and manage related costs and revenues.
