Your Role as a Facilities Engineer
As a Facilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility's infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, maintaining, and upgrading these systems while managing facility layouts and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations. This hands-on position requires a combination of technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and exceptional project management skills, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Systems Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of all facility equipment.
- Project Management: Manage facility-related projects, from renovations and equipment upgrades to office reconfigurations, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule while overseeing contractor performance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and manage the work of external vendors and contractors to guarantee quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Energy Management: Identify and implement initiatives aimed at energy savings to lower operational costs and enhance sustainability.
- Emergency Response: Act as a primary contact for facility-related emergencies and develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Space Planning: Assist in space planning and office relocations to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
