POSITION SUMMARY
KIPP Indy Public Schools (KIPP Indy) in collaboration with the Edna Martin Christian Center (EMCC) is on the lookout for a dedicated Family and Community Engagement Manager. This pivotal role is designed to ensure that our network is equipped with the essential resources and support necessary to achieve our mission and foster student success. As a vital member of the EMCC and KIPP Indy team, you will collaborate with school leadership teams and the KIPP Indy partnerships team, advocating for the families of KIPP Indy. You will coordinate with community partners to provide programs and services that enhance learning conditions and boost both academic achievement and social-emotional well-being for our students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Coordination
- Assist families in accessing resources that promote their overall well-being.
- Develop, oversee, and maintain a comprehensive schedule of programs and services within the school.
- Identify and liaise with new agencies or organizations that can enhance academic success and improve learning conditions while supporting social-emotional growth.
- Manage volunteer efforts within the school, create volunteer opportunities, maintain accurate records of volunteer contributions, and regularly acknowledge their contributions.
- Act as a community liaison, attending external meetings as necessary to promote family outcomes.
- Work alongside school social workers to connect families with human service agencies and other resource providers.
- Gather program and service delivery data from providers and partners.
- Collaborate with EMCC and other community partners on at least two community-focused engagements to enhance collective partner and neighborhood involvement.
- Participate in regular meetings with EMCC Family Services staff to ensure comprehensive service supports and referrals are effectively implemented.
Family Engagement
- Partner with KIPP Indy to develop and implement an impactful family engagement strategy, focusing on communication and outreach.
- Proactively involve families and community members in attending MBEZ and KIPP Indy events.
- Efficiently manage the KIPP Indy Family Resource Center.
- Organize family workshops and meetings.
- Collaborate with regional and school leadership at KIPP Indy to create a schedule of family programs, events, and services aimed at supporting student success.
- Keep detailed records of family engagement activities and work in conjunction with school leadership and educators on these initiatives.
- Engage families to create meaningful volunteer opportunities through the A+ Family Partnership Group.
- Connect with family and staff leaders to participate in the OG Family Action Council.
