Join the dynamic team at Albireo Energy as a Field Automation Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the on-site engineering, integration, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). This position is essential for mission-critical data center construction and complex commercial projects, offering hands-on technical leadership from design validation through installation, testing, and customer acceptance.
On-Site Engineering & System Implementation
- Conduct field engineering for BMS and EPMS systems on data center projects, commercial office buildings, and regulated facilities.
- Perform site surveys, constructability reviews, and field assessments to confirm design intent and system requirements.
- Lead system installation, startup, commissioning, and testing activities.
- Act as the primary on-site technical resource for automation and controls scope.
Design, Controls & System Integration
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to design and implement BMS and EPMS systems.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (including Schneider, Rockwell, and Siemens).
- Develop and maintain system databases, tags, alarms, trends, and graphics within BMS and EPMS platforms.
- Integrate HVAC plant systems and electrical infrastructure, including UPS, switchgear, generators, STS, and power metering.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, cybersecurity requirements, and project-specific sequences of operation.
- Utilize and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP-based networks.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to installation, commissioning, and service teams.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, controls logic, communications, and network-related issues.
- Identify field discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with engineering and project teams.
Commissioning, Testing & Validation
- Execute and support point-to-point checkout, FAT/SAT, and site acceptance testing.
- Participate in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and Level 3–5 commissioning activities.
- Validate system functionality, including alarms, trends, sequences, graphics, and failover conditions.
- Assist with owner training and system documentation.
