As a Field Inspector I at SGS, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of grain and food oil transport systems. Under general supervision, you will conduct inspections, oversee loading processes, and sample various commodities according to established government regulations and standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and sampling of containers, barges, and rail cars at various locations.
- Supervise the loading and counting of agricultural products, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Physically measure, weigh, sample, and take temperatures of diverse agricultural products as per established guidelines.
- Calculate transferred quantities and perform reconciliations to maintain accurate records.
- Perform initial analysis of grains, preparing samples for expedited processing by Grain Graders.
- Transport commodity samples between loading terminals and the office as required.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests on samples under supervision.
- Document the inspection process meticulously with detailed notes and photographs, adhering to National/Regional field forms.
- Maintain open communication with administrative staff regarding job status, progress, and any challenges encountered.
- Stay updated with industry standards and client procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Commit to a safe working environment, prioritizing the health and safety of all SGS employees and clients in line with company policies.
- Uphold the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct at all times.
