As a Field Service Technician (FST) at Evolv Technology, you will play a crucial role in the successful deployment of our life-saving products. Your responsibilities will include supporting product demonstrations and installations, as well as performing maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on existing field units.
Success Metrics: Your First Year Journey
In your first 30 days, you will:
- Engage in comprehensive technical training on Evolv Express products, tools, equipment, and software.
- Shadow a seasoned field service engineer to learn the nuances of the role and familiarize yourself with typical job challenges.
- Establish rapport with customers, assess their needs, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Begin executing fundamental field service tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, while documenting your work in service reports.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, share best practices, and receive constructive feedback.
- Understand the company's internal processes, including inventory management, invoicing, and scheduling.
Within three months, you will:
- Take initiative in both team and independent scenarios to ensure the success of Evolv, yourself, and your customers.
- Develop strong relationships with colleagues across sales, customer success, and other departments.
- Gain a solid understanding of technical requirements related to Evolv products.
- Establish a positive rapport with clients that leaves a lasting impression.
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve 2-5 equipment issues.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for taking on additional responsibilities as you progress.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks, including expenses, work orders, and RMAs.
By the end of your first year, you will:
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the Express system and software.
- Lead 2-4 special event support activities at strategic locations.
