Eram Talent, a prominent talent acquisition consultancy in Saudi Arabia, is on the lookout for a skilled Field Technician with expertise in Terrestrial Ecology to contribute to a significant environmental project in the region. In this role, you will be integral in conducting environmental studies and assessments related to terrestrial ecosystems, engaging in field data collection, habitat evaluations, and collaborating with a diverse team of ecologists and environmental scientists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify birds and mammals to species level, particularly those native to southern Saudi Arabia.
- Design, plan, and execute terrestrial field surveys, utilizing various census techniques, including camera trapping and bird census methods (point counts and line transects). Experience in small mammal trapping is also required.
- Set up remote camera traps, download, and securely manage the data.
- Write clear and professional scientific reports in English.
- Manage data effectively, including analysis and presentation.
- Oversee field staff coordination to enhance survey efficiency.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and stakeholder interaction.
- Maintain physical fitness to conduct fieldwork in mountainous terrains.
- Be available to reside in Abha for the duration of the contract.
- Possess fluency in English (both spoken and written).
