About the Role
As a Financial Aid Specialist, you will handle a substantial caseload of students and serve as a crucial touchpoint in their enrollment journey. This role is high-impact and student-facing, focused on guiding students through the financial aid process. You will provide empathetic support to help them navigate complex paperwork, clarify funding options, and communicate challenging information with warmth and clarity. Balancing detailed, policy-driven tasks with meaningful human interactions, you will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that demands flexibility, adaptability, and proactivity.
This position is ideal for someone who is part analyst, part communicator, and eager to contribute to a dynamic startup environment.
Your Impact Will Include...
Guiding students through the complete financial aid process, from FAFSA completion to verification, packaging, and disbursement.
Calculating aid packages, generating offer letters via financial systems, and explaining them clearly to students.
Navigating emotionally complex conversations about aid barriers, denials, Pell eligibility, and payment plans while maintaining student trust and empathy.
Organizing and managing interactions across systems, trackers, and notes while overseeing 200–500+ students, ensuring persistent outreach and responsiveness through phone, text, and email.
Collaborating closely with Admissions Counselors, Onboarding Specialists, and Success Coaches to create a seamless and unified student experience across departments.
Staying updated on evolving policies and procedures, swiftly adapting workflows and contributing to team knowledge.
