Your Role as a Financial Controller at Akuna:
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Financial Controller to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, working autonomously to achieve both personal and team objectives. This role will collaborate closely with Finance, Compliance, Trade Operations, and Procurement teams. As Akuna expands its footprint across new markets and offices, you will gain invaluable experience in international accounting and the trading industry. In this capacity, you will:
- Oversee, maintain, and enhance accounting control procedures
- Lead and mentor the accounting team
- Manage the month-end close process across multiple entities
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records, including General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet reporting
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for banks, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Calculate and review transfer pricing and tax computations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Engage in the budgeting process
- Coordinate financial audits and tax return filings with external accounting firms
